Hahaha I gasped when they brought Sarah Silverman out. I was thinking, Dear God, if she's the host I just might have to turn it off. She's so painful.
I do think they would PERHAPS have done better if there was some sort of host to ATTEMPT to tie this garbage together though. It was so all over the place. It's like someone who was on speed decided the line up. It was just flashing all over.
I even managed to hate the way they'd show the few videos that were up for awards. I'd rather see the video for 10 seconds, then it broken up into 16 mini screens.

sarah silverman is quite overrated...she's really hit or miss. sometimes she's funny, but there are so many times that her jokes are painful and even awkward. she unfortunately missed the mark with about 95% of her jokes last night, i almost felt bad for her.
her show can be funny sometimes though, but even THAT is hit or miss.
but i agree, chelsea handler is hilarious -- she's so underrated. i wonder if the mtv generation even knows she exists though lol

Honesty, at first I thought that Sarah Silverman was set to host, because she came out with her comedic work like Chris Rock and Jimmy Fallon did when they hosted. It really seemed more like, Alicia Keys, Rosario Dawson, and Sarah Silverman hosted the show jointly while Timberland was the event DJ. It kind of felt like the show producers strung a group of different celebrity announcers and presenters together to host the show one at a time.
