Step 1: Kill dog
Step 2: Pick up dog (making sure to hold all four legs)
Step 3: Start swinging dead dog
Step 4: Repeat step 3 until the ensued hilarity dies

Yes, and it doesn't fit...then again, many things in this movie are sort of meandering and pointless.

In what way didn't it fit? We're talking about a guy who beat his own man to death with a hammer for shooting at their enemy.

Shooting a guy in the neck who is driving your boss's wife at high speed down the freeway, and then losing the guy and the wife, is not something that is going to make your boss happy.

Knowing full and well that it was wrong, i have to admit that i laughed my ass off at that scene.

It was a surprising scene that I certainly would not have expected, but funny is not the word - it's heartless and brutal - I don't know what there is to laugh about in the scene.
What bothered me more was the missing "no animals were harmed..." message during the end credits - not meaning to sound racist or anything like that but with China as a filming location I wouldn't be too surprised if they actually just shot the real dog for the scene instead of going for special effects.
