It sucks to be an American

I absolutely love Douglas Coupland and was very excited to hear about this adaptation. Trust me, in America a brilliant novel is not often prime-time fare. I just downloaded the first two episodes, and despite hearing the bad reviews here, I think this is a great show. Very funny, totally not what I imagined, but good. I miss the Marks and I think Cancer Cowboy is a bit over the top. I'm excited for John Doe's mom to show up.

Anyway, it seems great, and I hope it works out and they really give it a good run.

The actor for Cowboy does a good job but I agree, compared to the book, he seems a little too Gino for me...whatever that means. Anyway, I thought cowboy was a little more lost on average in the book with only the robotussin to help him out of his shell and into the life of debauchery...which was more likely to result in chewing his arm off in the morning.

But the character on the show is still a good one.

Actually, I just realised who he reminds me of. Joey (was that his name???Anyway, the guy who was always eating)on Friends.

Yeah, he is like Joey- if you take away the stupid and replace it with nihilism.

It's not a total loss for American viewers, if you live on the border with Canada, you get CBC either through cable or through rabbit ears.

I live in the US and watch each episode every friday night at 9pm.

that is a possibility for an insanely small portion of american viewers.

if u dnt like being an American then get the *beep* out

I just might. Are you an American by any chance?

I think it's excellent to be an american. The Canadians pay to produce and air the show and I download it for free. Awesome!
