Is there an extended version?

This might have been asked before but i can't find it when looking through the pages, but at the beginning of the trailer there's a few scene of her before she goes to England with her LA friends, but there not in the film i've got.

Just wondered if there was an extended version :)

There might be. Here on IMDb, there's two different run times listed.

3 possibilities.

1.) There is in fact an extended cut out there with these scenes in tact.
2.) Those scenes aren't actual, full length scenes, they were shot for the marketing purposes only. (You'd be surprised how many film companies do this.)

or 3.) They're deleted scenes that can be found on the DVD. When the editor cuts the trailer, they have all the raw, uncut footage to work with. It isn't until later that they decide what to keep and remove from the final cut.

Different run times are probably due to the differences in PAL and NTSC standards. I can't properly explain how it works, but the run time of a movie on a European DVD in PAL will always have a different run time than the very same movie on a American (NTSC) DVD.

Interestingly, although the film was never properly released to theaters in the USA, the American DVD is full of extras that don't appear on the UK DVD. One of these extras is the entire Los Angeles sequence in a much longer (and much more coherent) version than the final theatrical cut. However the extended version of the opening is not edited into the film proper, and can only be view from the special features menu.
