I liked it just fine, the whole "culture clash", classism thing reminds me of the classic "A Yank At Eton", starring Mickey Rooney as a transplanted American boy enrolled in THE top British boarding school by his step-father, where he inevitably butts heads with the popular Freddie Bartholomew, eventually gaining the respect and admiration of the other boys. Same tit-for-tat one-upsmanship stunts, same initial lack of regard for the British system of doing things. The film also has elements of - sorry for beating the proverbial "dead horse" - the conflict between Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy, where once again, the more sympathetic character prevails at nearly every turn. Even if people insist on calling it "predictable", it's still a lot of fun.

"Oxford Blues" with Rob Lowe and Ally Sheedy, was a remake of "A Yank at Oxford". It's a common theme-- the fish out of water who learns an important lesson.
