That damn Gillette billboard!

I don't mind a little subtle advertising, like somebody drinking from a coke or beer bottle, but not when it's thrown in your face like it is in this film. The reason people watch movies is for the escapism it brings - to detract you from day to day life, but when you have a huge Gillette billboard in shot every 20 minutes makes it get really damn annoying!
I don't think even Michael Bay would go as low as to have a bus/truck blast through a giant Coke sign for example...

it stood out right away. I at first thought it was supposed to symbolize getting cut or hacked at. Guess i looked into it too far.

That's EXACTLY what Michael Bay would do. Which is why we all love him so much.

A subtle jab methinks, as there was no indication of any credit to Gillette.

Maybe it was to indicate the masculinity with the sign coming crashing down.....or indeed, the male characters having numerous 'close shaves'

It was humor just like the cock and bull shop in the town

I hate the fake companies movies make up so that they dont have to pay a real company. If the guy climbs up on a billboard I want to see a real ad not some goofy "eat tasty ohs cereal" ad they make up.

The Gillette billboard nearly killing the guy... just a "close shave", no?
