The Ending?

Who else thought the ending was a complete joke? The movie was so-so but I sat through it without being too bored, although I didn't laugh once and thought it would of been better as a straight up horror z flick. The stupidity of the characters was astounding, [spoilers] especially in the end scene where they play around with the one device that could of saved them, and then shatter it. Then they start running off, smiling like jackasses without a horde of female zombies following them. [/spoilers]

It started off so strong, the introduction of the characters and their lady troubles was fun and got me excited to actually see a *good* zombie film, but it petered off quickly once the first of the zombies made their appearance.

There seems to be a huge market for zombie movies, so I'm confused why there hasn't been a good flick since the remake of Dawn of the Dead? I mean there have been others I've enjoyed since then, don't get me wrong, but I haven't felt truly satisfied since 2004's Dawn.

Just my two-cents.

I agree, a sure sign writers were lost or bored. It started strong and ended confused...not sure what they were tryign to say oh well....

Wow I had totally forgotten about that post. Full of grammar/spelling mistakes and a useless spoiler tag. Sorry about that. The writers did just seem to get bored/didn't know where to go with the story. Sad, it had great potential.

The end was out of tone totally. It kept a good pace with a few twists and jokes up to then.

The ending was stupid. They hadn't learned anything. And WHY THE HELL DIDN'T THEY PICK UP AND USE THAT BIG SWORD EARLIER IN THE MOVIE??

I kept wondering the same thing...

Most people call me a pessimist, I prefer to be called a realist.

I think the fact they hadn't learned anything is why it ended the way it did.

(possible spoilers below)

They dropped the remote control device because they were clowning around, laughing at the (zombie) women, and enjoying being able to control (zombie) women. The last we see of them, they are fleeing with a shopping cart, laughing. Is there really any likelihood they survived? This viewer thinks not.

I have seen the eternal Footman hold my coat, and snicker.

You just turned a terrible ending into a decent one. Very nice.

reply

That ending was terrible because it's so abrupt and inconclusive.

I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!

A dumb ending to a so-so film but by then I was as bored as presumably the writers were.
