Wth was wrong with her original 'crew' ?

Their "friend" gets into a good school, misses a few rehearsals that they didn't even seem to need her for and they just decide to ruin everything in her life ? What kind of people are these ? It just seemed so weird to me. They didn't seem like believable people, or at least no one I'd want to spend that sort of time with. Did the leader have a thing for her, and if so why was he so hard on her ?

he was obviously jealous of Andie spending so much time with Chase.

well remember only one of her friends from the crew, wanted to still be around her.. that other girl (don't know her name) got all up in Andie's face for continuing to miss practice, saying she was looking like an idiot make excuses up for her because of Andie missing practices... Plus Tuck doesn't take well to her going to a good school, probably because he didn't go to school, let alone one that good, plus he thought people who went to that school did the "foofoo" dances like ballet, so he thought she was stepping out on them because of the school... plus remember he said 410 (thats the name right?) comes first and isnt second to no one and more or less anything including school...

The extreme always makes an impression.

this movie was definitely done badly in that respect-it went out of its way to show the more underprivileged kids in the movie as little more than one dimensional street thugs

Not because of dancing - because he broke into Tuck's home and left a rotten, stinky fish in the vent. He earned his beating fair and square.

I agree he earned his beating fair and square...could've had cops called on him...but to need 3 of you to beat up one guy is cowardly.
