The director actually thinks he's punishing the Swiss government by withdrawing his precious docudrama?

Punish us again, please.

Lock this in a vault and throw away the key. There's a surfeit of biopics (already released or in the works) about Coco Chanel as it is.

Why should the Swiss be punished? Polanski is a criminal, and a sleazy one at that.

My point was that this pompous ass of a director is morally misguided. If he thinks that the withdrawal of his film from a Swiss festival is condign "retaliation" against the Swiss government for arresting Polanski, he's very much in error. If he thinks that protest against the arrest of someone guilty of child rape is taking the high road, he's depraved. And if he meant to take a stand in favor of the idea that great artists are above the law, he's a despicable elitist lacking respect for democratic law.

Just look at his masterpiece now! Rated a measly 6.2 by IMDb viewers and just 54% by film critics, according to RT.

Oooh, punish us again, Jan. Punish us again.

Much older than you are, sweetheart, judging from your wide-eyed amazement over Koenen's "genius" . To borrow a phrase from the "vapid young"

In this case, the "nobody cares" refers to the fact that, Koenen's political grandstanding aside, Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky is a film well worth missing. Amusingly enough, at 51% rotten on the RT meter, it's actually his best reviewed work to date.
