The Ending * Definite Spoilers*

David's reasoning for breaking Emily's leg - He was angry with her? Maybe if he broke her leg she wouldn't have to move away? He was jealous of her feelings for the other guy? A combination of all the aforementioned? I would be interested to hear other peoples' views on this......

Now I may be totally wrong on all this. I believed that when Steve realised that she may be moving away and possibly with her boyfriend, he killed her and hid her body in the cave. Living some delusional fantasy where she was his only, he brought random bits to the cave which wouldn't have kept her nourished and he kept her warm in a bag. The scene where they are chasing sheep I believe was very much a sixth sense moment where the farmer only saw him as he was the only person chasing sheep.

Still not convinced? Where did they get all the candles when they were eating in the cave?

As to why he broke her leg, I thought that he did that purely to try and cover everyone, make it out that it was an accident and that's why she couldn't get out of the cave. At the end of the film when he snapped back into reality and he saw her as dead, he then tried to hide the body at sea and yeah, like someone else said, probably drowned himself

er....except Steve didn't kill her, did he?

Rubbish theory.

I think the poster meant to say David and not Steve.

However, it is a very good theory and as the director Tom Harper has posted on this board, I wonder if he could clarify what his intentions were in regard to that.

Also, perhaps shed a light on his view of whether David did drown?
