Pig Hunt is a good movie

This movie may not appeal to everyone. However, I think it is well made; cinematography, direction, editing and I dare say acting, considering this being a low-budget.

If you are looking for non-stop action then I would recommend Transformers 2, and if you are looking for over-the-top video-game-like CGI effects then I would recommend G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.

If you are looking for a very well made low-budget movie in the woods with a Deliverance-like theme, including a psycho-hippie cult and the hunt for hogzilla, then watch Pig Hunt.

Agree totally - although Transformers 2 blows. Pig Hunt was indeed pretty entertaining for what it was... loved how it was not ONLY a "giant killer animal" movie and threw in some wacky twists along the way. In particular I thought the acting from the rednecks was great fun... and well, Les Claypool as a redneck priest was a nice little touch!!!

I thought it was quite good.
I mean a Giant Killing Pig? That's cool!

Although a little predictable at times, I would watch it again, sometime.

But the end left me a little annoyed.

(Spoiler alert)

Who was that kid at the end, the one that had the Pig Tooth? (or whatever it was)
And did Ben (the black guy) and the dude with the damaged leg survive?

Kid in the end was one of the hippies. There were at least dozen women and only few of them got killed. She left small piglets go free (whom would propably grow up to be gigantic also). Ben and other guy didn't survive. There was only big pool of blood where they were left.

im pretty sure the kid was part off the redneck clan...we first saw him when the main group was driving through the redneck camp, the kid dropped something on their suv from above in a tree.

I DO CROSSWORD PUZZLES IN PEN CUZ IM JUST THAT CONFIDENT

Definitely worth a watch. For those familiar with the seventies movie themes of killer shrews, giant rabbits, rats, and the birds, this is the type of Sunday afternoon thrillers most of us grew up with, guilty pleasures to be sure.

reply

It was hilarious for how terrible the acting, dialogue, and story was.
and some great action. but the end felt rushed, no real buildup, the pig fight was *beep* pathetic, the whole hippee commune scene in fact was pretty mediocre.

it started off slow but it picked up well halfway through and moved along nicely to the end. a decent movie

Watch the Feast trilogy.

reply

Woohoo, this was good!

Although... Feast was absolutely lame. Couldn't stand but 10 minutes of it.

I liked the movie, even if I was a bit disappointed with "Ripper". The legendary terror was a blind boar that, once on-screen, slowly hobbled forward, was rather quickly killed and didn't put up as much of a fight as it did scream when it was wounded.

The rednecks and the cultists were far better adversaries, even if I can't for the life of me understand why that guy suddenly decided it was a good idea to stand between the pig and the intended sacrifice.
