AM I THE ONLY PERSON WHO LIKED THIS MOVIE?!?!?!

SERIOUSLY!!
Might just because I'm a fan of Gavin and Stacey, and the new Horne and Corden, but seriously, I have just been to see this movie and I got what I expected and then some. Slapstick, blue humour, maybe a little too much nudity but with a title like "LESBIAN Vampire Killers"...
Please don't reply to this with hate-posts, it was a good movie for comedy value, yes, there were parts that at time got a little "Huh??" but majority of the movie was enjoyable to watch.
You can't expect to pidgeon-hole it with things like Shaun of the Dead or even serious horror movies because it simply isn't the same, and isn't trying to be. For their first crack at writing and starring in movies (As a pair that is, Corden has been in movies before obv.) I feel they did a cracking job and it was obviously something they enjoyed.
Please only reply if you genuinely liked the movie, don't try and "convert" or persuade others to hate it, keep your cynical comments to yourself until you yourself can write and star in your own big-screen movie that gets better reviews than this will...

Come back here and take what's coming to you! ILL BITE YER LEGS OFF!

Not that I have any problem with the movie (not having seen it), but the logic behind this argument means you yourself should shut up because, unless you've created such a movie, you aren't allowed to comment on how good or bad it may be.

So, not being a war veteran, don't say anything about the pros or cons of being a nation at war -- and above all, don't use that as a basis for your voting...

Not being a chef, eat what's put in front of you, and don't complain if you don't like the taste...

Not being an American, hold your tongue about what America does, and why...

What, you REALLY don't think that last one works? Despite being an American, and proud of it, I concur.

Of course, that's part of being an American -- freedom to express ideas to be criticized or found agreeable, your reasoning sound or specious based on its merits, not solely on the basis of depth of experience.

That doesn't mean your ideas, as expressed, will result in jack s**t happening, but the expression itself is not a bad thing.

So, on the whole, your statement is stupid and foolish, and profoundly lacking in reason on pretty much all levels.

your argument is fundamentaly flawed, it displays the defensive patterns of a narcissist protecting his ego. You should be thoughtful about what is involved in the process of making a movie, good food, an [American] decision, or why and to what ends and consequences war is being waged, but in every one of these cases, you as the consumer (in case of film and food) or the observer (in case of war or the American decision) are involved directly or indirectly. I dare say we wouldn´t have culturally evolved if we left everything to so-called "experts"

btw I loved the movie

I absolutely loved this. Its about time that a DECENT vampire schtick movie comes out... I Would just love to know when it's coming out on DVD In the states.

There's no accounting for taste.

You're probably the only fan of Horne & Corden too.

Good point. While you're at it, don't complain to that mechanic who didn't fix your car properly until you're a better mechanic than he is and don't complain to Heston Blumenthal about the burnt french fries you were served at The Fat Duck until you've got more Michelin stars than he has.

I really loved this film , I am so gutted all the critics gave it crap reviews.I think you need to have a good sense of humour to enjoy this film some people are just boring lol.If you loved planet terror this is just as cool, jokes are so funny we were laughing all the way through to me this could be next shaun of the dead cant wait for the dvd!!!!!!!!!!

reply

I think the exact opposite. The movie wasn't funny. These are the sort of jokes my school friends and I used to titter over when we were 12 and it was the 90s. But Now we're not 12 and it's not the 90s. This sh!t has been done before... better and years ago. Now it just looks tired... it's just boring really.

"av it!" What? Really? Is that turn of phrase retro, or just dated?

And I did like Planet Terror (that's how tongue in cheek should be done) and Shaun of the Dead (because it was actually funny), but still hated this dull lazy waste of celluloid, which is nothing much like either of those films.

i loved this movie, gavin and stacey AND horne and cordon, period.

reply

I saw horne and corden for the first time last night, *beep* me it's bad. Honestly the material is pathetically weak. It makes 'my hero' look like blackadder, and jim davidson like bill hicks.

reply

Horne and Corden didn't write it.

i liked it too, loved the credits at the start and the hammer titles throughout

I liked it thought it was pretty funny and of course decent girl on girl scenes.

THIS IS NOT AN EXIT

reply

I haven't seen it yet, came here to see what people thought, but the above is true, they didn't actually write this movie.

reply

I enjoyed it, I think some might take the film too seriously, I'm not sure what some expect from it, it did kinda what I expected it to do. I laughed many times, and so did my crowd. It's good to have a well done silly film if you may now and again to laugh at..

reply

I quite enjoyed it, maybe because I was expecting something abysmal and it was far from that, but I found it an enjoyable way to spend 90 odd minutes. It is weird that many reviews/plot summaries say the film is set in Wales when in actual fact it is East Anglia.

reply

agreed, people these days esspecially movie fans in general take *beep* WAY to seriously... esspecially things like this that are not meant to be taken seriously. if people watched this movie for what it was and that being an amusing way to kill time, see some great lesbian vampire T&A and some over the top B grade acting then i think people would enjoy it a lot more.

all in all it was pretty funny movie, and one that will soon make it's way into my vast and ever growing movie library.

reply

Me and my fiance and enjoyed it a lot as well. Sure it's not a life-changing movie but I laughed a lot and came out feeling happy, that's all you really expect from this. My whole theatre seemed to enjoy it, maybe you need that retro laugh-along vibe to really get into the mood for it? Seriously, when he got the giggles picking up the sword or when he kills Rachel... it's not genius but it's still funny and that's what counts. Yeah, it's immature, but so what.

reply

Just seen this film (I was still really looking forward to seeing it, even after reading all the rubbish reviews and bad comments I'd seen online!) and I really dont see what everyones problem with this film is!

Ok, it was absolutely not anything new and is never going to be an award winner, but it was funny enough to keep you entertained and interested. I'm a massive fan of Horne and Corden, and maybe this is why I enjoyed it so much. They, for me, made the film as enjoyable as I found it to be.

I didn't expect a masterpiece, with an intricate and convincing plot or big budget effects. Just something to make me laugh. Which it did. Job done as far as I am concerned. Althouhg, if you dont like Horne and Corden, and dont find them funny, then probably dont bother (unless you intend enjoying the girl on girl vampire action...)

Ok, one question!
The synopsis of the film that I read on the cinemas website I went to says that they go hiking in Wales. And I also saw an interview last week with Matt Horne, in which he was explaining the basic story line and also says it takes place in Wales?!? Anyone have any idea why this isn't the case..and it actually takes place somewhere towards Norfolk/East Anglia??

Thanks!

reply

hey, i liked horne and corden and i'm going to see lesbian vampire killers in the holidays and i've seen the trailers and it looks very funny!

reply

No you're not!. I saw the film this PM, not particularly because Horne and Corden were in it but purely becuase of the title. Any film with a title like this one has to be worth a punt if only to see how bad it might be. BUT it wasn't bad at all, I really liked it and enjoyed the way it was played very much with tongue in cheek all through AND Myanna Buring is just gorgeous!. It isn't a masterpiece but is 90 minutes or so of spoofing fun. As another poster has said it is very much in the vein of Planet Terror, so if you liked that, you will like this. Leave you brain at the door, don't analyse it too much, just sit back and enjoy.

Who made you king of the internet? With all those regulations in place, there's really nothing I am able to say. Except...

You can't expect to pidgeon-hole it with things like Shaun of the Dead ... because it simply isn't the same.

You're having a laugh, aren't you? OF COURSE IT'S THE SAME (only no good). They even rob Edgar Wright's directorial flourishes -- the speeded up gestures and whooshes. They have made in impossible not to compare it with Shaun.

Oh, don't be silly. A good trepaning and you couldn't compare it with anything.
