wowwww. it felt like it was 5 hours long. in the worst way possible. i got the symbols and motifs and all that *beep* too. this movie just did not work. i can't be the only one who feels that way.

I'm not that crazy about it either, malibulax. It is very well realized and directed, the atmosphere is beautiful all the time, but the misleading relationship at the beginning is too much. It is a diplay of arrogance from the director. That's the way I see it.

The movie basically goes nowhere. Ok, we get that James is an emotionally withdrawn a-hole. JB's character acts like she still likes him, but sometimes overreacts to him.

It's a staggeringly pointless waste of time. I think the entire goal of the filmmakers was to show off how the leads can speak different languages. Which is apparently all it takes to impress a European.

But if you are looking for a thoughtful movie, you won't find it here.

The four of you should start a club. Call it the intellectually empty film analysis club or some such.
