Pretentious

First of all, I love Kiarostami but as it seems only his Iranian films. This and Like Someone in Love, not so much.

Here, I found the film well-crafted and with good acting, especially Binoche was mesmerizing. However, after a while I simply couldn't stand the way they were pretending to be married, it was so contrived and over the top.

Now, if they were really married, again the first half where they were like not having met before was pretentious and misleading. Lastly, even if neither the director knows or cares what's true, I think it is a very schematic and easy way to talk about the vagueness of things and relationships.
