Bad Dr. Who?

Did anyone else think this was just like a really bad episode of Doctor Who? The monster totally reminded me of something you'd see on that, and the casually dressed scientists were straight from a DW cast list. Except Doctor Who is entertainingly good in that it embraces its cheesy retro-ness, rather than trying to pass it off as top drama, as this did - it didn't have the same tongue-in-cheek atmosphere about it as Doctor Who that might have helped it get away with its ludicrousness.

I wonder what Mary Shelley would think?!
