So Etain is this amazing tracker whom can smell the romans 200m away downwind but cannot detect any track that 3 of them have slept and lived in a small room for a day?

Numer of bowls? Tracks outside nothing??//

Yep, I thought this too. She tracks them through the whole film and then loses them in the hut despite the fact that they would stink, having been running and not bathing. She would have smelt them if she was such a great tracker. Oh well, didn't ruin the film for me as I still quite enjoyed it.

The whole point is they thought Imogen's character was a witch, and she scared them made them uneasy, so while yes they went in thinking they had been there or were still there, I think they also did not want to get the witch pissed, superstitious lot may have thought she would curse them all if they started accusing her, or searched her hut............well that's my take on it

She would have found them pretty easily, if Arianne hadn't distracted her with that "Cat got your tongue?" crack. You didn't think Arianne was just being a smartarse for the hell of it, did you? It was a deliberate ploy to anger Etain and throw her off the scent.
