well if someone stabbed my dog..

you bet they're not gonna be getting away unharmed i mean im not gonna kill them but can we blame the kid

reply

In this case, yes the kids were at fault the dog died. Well, mainly Ricky and Brett's fault. Brett had Steve's belongings which he asked civilly for Brett to give them back, and also to keep the dog back. After Brett wouldn't cooperate, Steve tried to force Brett to give him his things back, which is when Ricky pulled out a pocket knife and charged Steve to which Steve grabbed the kids wrists to prevent himself from getting stabbed. After the dog intervened, she got slaughtered.

I'm sure we all know how it would have played out had Brett cooperated, but then there would be no movie.

reply

Yes, we can blame the kid. The kid was a little sociopathic maniac and if it were not for him in the first place, the dog would've been fine (as would everyone else in the movie!).

Brett terrorized them and stole their car. At that point, Brett was lucky that Steve didn't stab him. Brett and his crew of misfits were all pushing their luck. And plus, what else was Steven supposed to do? Let the dog attack him? Brett was just a psychopath. He thought he could pointlessly terrorize Steve and Jenny...and then he gets all surprised and baffled when his dog gets stabbed. I mean, come on...get real Brett. He pushed his luck. But then again, Steve's the one who got brutally tortured in the end. So it didn't end well for Steve.

reply

It didn't end well for anybody, even the ones who survived. It wouldn't be long until the police squad shows up at Brett's property asking questions, and presenting evidence that has Brett's DNA all over it. Not to mention the phone that was used to record the brutal attacks belonged to Steve, and Brett looked like he intended to keep the phone at the end of the film.

reply

Either way, Brett was doomed. Investigators would eventually start piecing things together. Agreed...it didn't end well for anyone.

reply

Brett deleted all the videos at the end of the film. So aside from the evidence at the actual crime scene, there was no evidence left on the phone.

reply

Police can uncover the deleted footage. Even if they couldn't, they would recover the phone itself with Brett's DNA on it.

You can recover data from hard drives. The military uses a high grade eraser, high strength magnet system, or alternatively you can simply burn it.

Simply pressing erase is not going to work at all.

reply

pressing erace does not work because it does not actually erase the file, just hide if. It was shown in multiple tests that even a simple one pass overwrite is enough to make the data unrecoverable outside of extremely expensive and time consuming lab enviroment (think: it will take multiple years to recover that video in playable format). The military destroys it (usually by demagnetizing the platter and then smashing it physically) because, and im quoting the guys that do this here "to prove data was destroyed".

Seriously? Or are you trolling?

Ignorance is bliss... 'til it posts on the Internet, then, it's annoying.

I'd have a watchful eye on OP...

A fighting dog that you SET on them? The dog dies, and you are both a pussy and an asshole.

reply

The dog wouldn't have gotten stabbed if one of the kids hadn't pulled a blade first. Entirely their fault the situation happened in the first place - well aside from the couple's decision to go back and spend the night there. Besides, both the dog and its owner were behaving in a violently aggressive manner. The owner showed no interest in restraining the dog, so, sorry, no sympathy from me.
