thanks for speaking for me also

No, I'm not a Marine but I am retired from the US Air Force. As a matter of fact those grounds-crewman shown at Ramstein and Dover Air Force bases represents my career field of over 20 years. I did the very same thing depicted in those opening scenes. The film was all so accurate with the details.
We cared so deeply when a fallen comrade came though on those airplanes. This film shows that we care...it shows that a lot of small cogs in the metaphorical machine care.
When a hometown young man died, I was there with a flag along the funeral route to tell the family that I cared.
The film never takes political sides, as is correct. Duty is duty and all too important to be sold out to political propaganda. The Lieutenant Colonel never revealed his thoughts on world events such the Iraq War.
Also Chance was humanized by this film, especially the behind the scenes featurettes. Sometimes we can admire a hero to the point of dehumanizing them.
A great patriotic film in the truest sense, love of country and of our men and women in uniform.
Thanks to all our there watching our backs !!
