Hugely underrated movie by Coen Brothers

Some of their movies I get on first viewing (No Country for Old Men, Big Lewbowski, Fargo, Raising Arizona) and then there is this second group that I need to see few times and then the magic really appears for me (Intolerable Cruelty, Hudsucker Proxy, O Brother Where Art Thou, A Serious Man. This film must be watched several times to see the genius in it. Its now in my top 5 Coen Brother Films.

So good I watched it once but it has stayed with me. The story is fleshed out brillantly and is rather uneventful no twist but will make you think.

It is. Intelligent cinema at it's finest, I keep rewatching it every time I need an answer so bad I can't sleep. Not that it's true, nothing can keep me awake at night.

I agree. I hadn't seen this, but after watching Michael Stuhlbarg steal every scene in 'Boardwalk', I knew I had to! It was sad, funny and frustrating to see his life unravel.

On a side note, I could watch an entire movie about the 'dybbuk'. There was more tension in that scene than in the entirety of the average modern horror flik.

I rated it 8/10 after first viewing. Few years later and after more viewings I changed it to 10/10.

If you got the first few right away, I don't think you got 'em at all.
