I always thought Alex was a year or so older than Katie in the first 2 movies. But in this movie Alex was graduating from high school and Katie was finishing up her freshman year in college. What gives?

Katie is older.

It's mentioned in Au Pair II (and probably the first movie too).

I remember one line from the second one, Katie said that she was with the parents on some vacation and Alex was at camp, I just got the impression from that that he was older than her. And the kid who plays Alex is actually older than the girl who plays Katie...

the line I remember is Katie talking about some memory of their mother and Alex cant remember anything..... from that i always saw katie as older....

That's what I remember, which is why I did the initial post .... I figured Alex went to some type of camp because he was a little older. At least I know it's just not me.

i always thought they were twins, until i rewatched the first two today. i have no clue why i thought that. oh well, it has been 10 years since i watched the original!

I thought they were twins too! They never mentioned it? I guess just because they're so close?

I thought the boy was older too but I don't really know why. Didn't he get the love story in the second while the girl didn't? Maybe she got one too and I don't remember. It just seems like they would have given that to the older one. Idk, I definitely always thought Alex was older though.

I could have sworn that Alex was older though, becasue in the second one when Katie says "I was FOUR or FIVE and you were at camp, I was scared about mom getting sick so dad brought me to see this castle..." So if Alex was younger than her he would have been about three when he went to camp. I think they mixed it up between the movies.

I always wanted to know who was older. I figured Alex was the oldest, in the 1st movie he was taller than Katie and he just looked older. Then in the 2nd movie she told said in that one line you guys were talking about camp and all, I got confused myself. In part 3, it starting to make sense that Katie is the oldest. In part 3 she is in college and Alex is graduated high school.

Yeah I posted on another thread the same thing. I always thought he was older because he was bigger than her in the other two movies (and they say girls grow faster than boys) and he seemed to be the oldest. She seemed like a little girl to me so I was very shocked to learn that he was a yr younger than her int his one. I watched the first two twice but I didnt hear it mentioned the ages.
