Another Lazy Screenwriter

I swear I will not watch another movie I haven't seen before. I just wasted 4 hours of my life I will not get back. The premise looked promising, but I should have known by how the first half dragged on that it ws going to be a last minute ending making no sense. Or worse, that the ending would be an enigma leaving an opening for a sequel.

Why is it these days they keep making movies that have senseless endings or they conclude with evil triumphing over good???!! I don't say this lightly. It has happened so many times lately I only wish I had an exact count to prove my point and it might surprise you how many there have been latley!!!

I am rambling because I am so aggravated. And I mean it...I will not watch another movie I have not seen before...and especially new ones being written for TV viewing. I am sure I am alone....but it makes me feel good to announce it anyway and express my point of view!!!

Thank you for understanding and letting me have my say!!!
I am so disappointed tonight!!

I agree with you, Nova1942. What a disappointment. And I, too, wish I had the four hours back that I spent watching this convoluted mess. Perhaps my expectations were too high. The movie had real potential and I thought I was in for an enjoyably scary treat. But less than sixty minutes into the first installment, things turned sour for me. I found it to be so unrealistic that I could not apply the usual "suspension of disbelief" required for a horror/supernatural movie. The storyline was sloppily written, and the behavior & dialog of Peter Gallagher's character was almost unbelievable at times. Every time I thought things could not get any worse, they did. I suppose the confusing, open-for-interpretation ending has left the door ajar for a sequel or a TV series, but I definitely will not be watching. What a slap in the face and insult to the intelligence.

To further rant, Lifetime's large, constant onscreen logo and pop-up advertisements during the movie were incredibly distracting and annoying. They took me out of the movie time and time again. When will these jackasses realize that we viewers want to concentrate on what we're watching? Who needs to be reminded what channel and program we are presently watching, and what's coming on next? Arrgghhhh!

Yep, one of the worst endings ever! It made absolutely no sense. At first I thought maybe there was another hour left, but of course not, it was only a 4 hour mini-series. I agree, 4 hours of my life gone, although I did fall asleep for part of the movie. :)

I was looking forward to this because of Peter Gallagher and even Peter Fonda. It was just too wierd. I'll just go back to enjoying Charmed reruns or watch Practical Magic again.

please note have major end spoiler sorry for not stating this sooner!

I was not happy either with four hours....luckily I was working on some bead ornaments so the whole time wasn't wasted.

The idea that EVERYONE dies, with exception of the lead family, that woman whos name escapes me and the teacher...with the ending equals a pilot series to me. Frankly it is something I would not watch regulary, (althought the acting was good) just not my cup of tea for a series.

Thank you for saving my time. I had it taped but after reading the reviews, I watched a little and agree with you.

I agree with the entire thread, lol.
I wish I had read this 3 year old thread before I wasted my time watching it.

It's hard to pick the stupidest part of this movie, but one that stands out for me is "The Big Battle" near the end between the girl and the woman.
Amidst these two and the background, all flashing multicolor's as if the director was on an LSD trip, they stand there and "breath hard" on each other. I guess we're supposed to believe they're snarling? But it looked and sounded more like they were trying to fog up each others glasses.

I might give the writer another chance, but this director gets dumped in my bozo-bin.
I gave this 3 star's though, for the possible therapeutic value.
If one has a bad case of insomnia, this lemon will put them right to sleep.
