ending *spoiler*

i can't decide whether i understood the ending or not.
was the ending meant to be ambiguous to let audiences make up their minds on what happened between the characters of the teenage girl and ananda everingham?
did he, after all that mother-daughter sentiments, end up violating her anyway??
did her mother give her away to him?
the closing shot focused on his wallet lying on the floor along with some condoms.
but why was the girl still fully clothed??

(oh, and mr. everyingham cam follow me to my hotel room any day...)
