Shoots self foot over 'City?'

First, I had no idea who this guy was until he hosted the re-runs of "The Prisoner" for the A&E(?) channel a while back.
He's an interesting character, no disputing that.

In the film, he goes into great detail about what the Star Trek episode he's sueing over, "City on the Edge of Forever" was SUPPOSED to be. It's very apparent that the final product had little if any resemblance to his original work. The result was one of the most popular episodes of the series, how can he be claiming credit and compensation if he rags all over the episode because it's nothing like his version?

I wonder which came first, the Ellison disdain of his SciFi fans, or the parodied version that William Shatner made part of his schtick after appearing on SNL?

Thanks, I will definitely be reading that, out of curiosity more than anything else.

Without giving away too much, could you please comment on whether my conclusions which are based solely on this film are valid? Or did Ellison misspeak?

I've always read non-fiction, biographies and such. Sci-Fi and most fiction has never been my thing, but this book sounds like a good non-fiction read.

It might take a while for me to get some time for it, but I'll let you know my impressions after I read it (take that as the threat it is!)
