Cheerleaders

Why are cheerleaders always made out to be evil bullies or dippy tramps?
And please don't say "because they are".

I've known cheerleaders, have NEVER been one myself, and I get along fine with them. Sure, they have a click of sorts but I've never seen them, in reality, act like they do in this and other movies. And the cheerleaders I've known are actually pretty smart and creative ....

What is this jealousy everyone has towards cheerleaders that make them easy targets in the typical teen movie?

I agree and wonder myself. They always make cheerleaders out to be bullies and evil and the losers out to be kind and nice and if they do something wrong, it's because they were taunted by the cheerleaders, not because the losers are bad in their own way. Not all cheerleaders are evil and mean and dumb.
