I havent seen the beginning of this movie but I saw a part with her stepfather in her room after shes taken a shower. It's really creepy.
With that being said, did her step dad rape her or something?

It's pretty open-ended up to the point where the movie actually began, but no, he didn't rape her in the movie... It could be concluded that he had tried to rape her, but the only time he came close to more than touching her was when she was trying to distract him while trying to get the diary back...
Obviously he was a creep, what the hell kind of guy let's his wife go off stripping?
Dominique explained it in the movie: The stepfather lost his job and obviously couldn't find a new one yet, so her mother picked up an easy gig at a night club as an exotic dancer.
