Our Brand is FLOP!

Most likely going to be the flop of the year.

Haven't met one single person that is interested in this giant turd and from what I'm hearing.. the production co. just wants to release this thing and take whatever loss is coming their way because at this point it's inevitable!

Thornton - not a leading man anymore
Bullock - not a leading woman anymore

Let's face the facts there. It's not 2004.

I do love Sandra Bullock but even I wouldn't pay to see this crap.

reply

Likewise with me and BBT.. This just ain't happening

reply

Yup. Early estimates have it being Bullock's career worst opening.

reply

We just went to see it. Liked it very much. The theater was packed. Certainly a much better film than Steve Jobs. Critics are increasingly losing any credibility I ever gave them.

"You mean critics like the public, who has (<--should be "have" not has) unanimously avoided this steaming pile of PC trash? "

I'm truly curious....

What is so politically correct about this?

What is anti-White about it?

reply

Must have been the only packed theater. Grossed $3.4m on 2200 screens. Dismal average of $1558. Even Burnt opened with a better average, and the reviews for that are terrible.

reply

To those of you advocating for this dreck, maybe you should hold a vigil outside a theater where it's playing. There's one down the street from me. I'll gladly join you for a good laugh!

reply

Saw it ? loved it ? thought it was a very thoughtful story and well done.

Critics and film "literati" like yourself score another win and bring down a solid effort

I don't think this movie can outflop Fantastic 4.0... Fox lost a fortune on that.

reply

It will be the biggest flop of the year! Calling it

reply

Well, they got the Crisis part right. Is Warner Bros. trying to set a Guinness World Record for most box office failures in a single year? Sad thing for them is, this stinkbomb is probably not going to lose nearly as much money as "Jupiter" and "Pan" did. Those two were so publicly embarrassing, they couldn't even cook the books with them.

reply

Fantastic Four has probably already lost more money than it cost to make and market this movie.

reply

You're probably right about F4

reply

Looks like you were right on the financials for it, at least from what I see from the IMDB side but I don't think the leads mattered. Too many people find it hurts to use their brain cells to think and just want a movie with either sex, action, or that appeals to their emotions.

As much as I love Alfred Hitchcock his statements about appealing to the emotional side of people sadly too often ring true.
