Miranda and Thantos

In first movie it was stated that they were an item after her husband died. Basically he was there to comfort her. But wondering if these movies were not comedies ~ if they would have explored that storyline a bit more. Especially when it is shown in this flick that she had an idea that her husband / his brother was still alive within the shadow lands.

Not sure if this topic has been brought up before but what are your takes on this? Serious replies plz ~ Thanks
