I feel kind of silly but I don't remember how Dren died...It's been awhile since seeing the movie and I vaguely remember Elsa injecting her with some kind of poison after the rape scene....Is that correct?

Well, when Clive tried to stop male Dren from raping Elsa, it/he responded by stinging him in the heart to which Elsa gotten free from male Dren's grasp and bashed its/his head in with a big rock until it/he died.
