I thought it was a dream and we'd cut to a scene of Adrien Brody waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat.
Even the way it was filmed was very dream like and different from the rest of the movie.

Good point. The scene did feel so surreal and rather dreamlike. A dream that turned into a nightmare.

As horrific the scene was... it was also really funny. Kudos to the writer and director for the dark but very disturbing humor. It had a Monty Python feel to it.

I thought it was dream...mine! I couldn't believe something so hilarious was suddenly happening, and figured I must have fallen asleep.
