Another chauvinist movie

Ok ... ppl usually don't go to watch a movie for this reason, but I couldn't help notice a not-so-subtle fact, which is true of many other Hindi movies. This movie's makers are big chauvinists.

This movie mainly caters to the male audience. Action, Sports Cars and smokin' hot babes.

Also, notice that there are 6 main characters in the movie - 3 guys and 3 girls. But, somehow all the planning is done by men and they only use women to help them in the plot. If a girl disagrees with the plan, she is ignored. e.g. Bipasha thinks that Saif offering to race in the end with Akshaye is a bad idea .... she protests ... but she is completely ignored by Saif.

Another off topic point, the movie is filled with Ferraris and Mercedes in the songs, but in the main race in the end Saif brings a yellow Toyota? Probably, because they knew the cars are going to get wrecked in the race so the producers used cheaper cars to save money. :)

Although I consider myself a non-chauvinist guy, since I am a heterosexual Indian male, I admit I enjoyed the movie for obvious reasons.

Dude, it's nothing chauvinist. Its just about the game, it was always between the brothers, the girls were just their partners/lovers, hows could they have more say?

Dude, that's totally uncalled for.

There is nothing wrong in calling a movie male chauvinist, just like there is nothing wrong in calling a movie feminist. If someone finds it that way he/she can decide not to watch it. As it happens, most of the "action" movies are male dominated (angelina jolie's efforts are worth mentioning though).

Usually I would have ignored this type of reply, but this

Would you rather things go back to the way they were a few hundred years ago, when women weren't even considered real people in most places?

was particularly in bad taste. In case you don't think so, compare your line to kramer's outburst last year.

man i hate these indian movie basher, if u dont like them then stop watching them

and if u had a brain u would realize that by your logic most movies be like indian or hollywood would be chauvinistic just look at movies like The fast & the furious, die hard 4.0, etc.... they all have girls playing second fiddle...

another thing if u have ever seen the fast and the furious or any racing movies or ever a seen tv show about cars u'll realize that for street racing they always use tricked out versions of cars like the toyota supra, ford shelby GT, nissans, etc...

do yourself a favour n think before u post this crap

welcome to bollywood.

I completely agree with you,Saurabh. This is one of the most chauvinist films I've seen. Bipasha Basu looked the best and had so little to say or add. KK was just jelly and Sameera was infuriatingly dumb. It does give women a bad name especially since they're so good looking and hot and good looking and hot.
