The HOLLYWOOD sign

When they were drinking under the Hollywood sign I wonder if this was a set, because I noticed that the Hollywood sign is not falling down like that, or vandalized (when you watch YouTube videos and see photos), like it probably was in the '70s. In the movie they showed the O had fallen down and parts of the other letters had panels that were missing.
