How much of an animation investment will Disney Make in this?

I'm hoping that Marvel goes full-on with this style wise and technology wise. One of the reasons that Jack Kirby was so influential in his field was that his style of creating grandness only cost him a few more hours and ink to bring his vision to paper. Adapting his vision-style to the "Big Screen" would cost a fortune in sets and props if you went practical. Even then some imagery just wouldn't happen. Taika Waititi tried but fell woefully short in rendering the Kirby art style. It lacked the energy, scale and scope of a Kirby print-page.

You might think that was cheesy but to me that oozes Power, Majesty and Grandness. Totally epic. Tim Story probably was scared stiff attempting to bring Galactus to the big screen because he thought audiences wouldn't accept it.

As a kid this made me understand the meaning of "Awe". Without those visuals Lee's words have a diminished impact.

The impact of Kirby will be digital with painstaking love by digital experts. Same with a Jim Steranko which has yet to make it to the big screen.

What If... is about the stories but visually it needs to stand out.

The Animatrix did bring the anime style which was the basis for lots of the imagery and the story of the Matrix and I liked the Animatrix because of that change of visual pace and story telling style.

I'd like for Marvel's "What-If..?" to break the kind of ground that Sony did with Spider-Verse visually. There is no reason not to at this point. I think Marvel needs to do that to pay homage and respect to Jack Kirby.
