Favorite character?

Mine would be the Mikami brothers.

Myself being fluent japanese, their accent sounds like they came from country area, mixed with a bit of Kansai dialect (or some hillbilly dialect from up north) and of course slang.

Miike gave them lots of funny one-liners and the things they mumble during the last fight was funny to me. Like it was just a game to them and having fun.

Their mannerism were also comical in a realistic way. I dont know if that makes any sense.

Definitely Genji, he was so calm and such a badass throughout the whole movie. I also know the Japanese language and yeah they all did sound like they came from different areas of Japan.

Great film though, another triumph for Miike!

Can't beat a bit of Tamao Serizawa.

This was a surprising movie by Miike, I was expecting it to be a lot worse than what it was. Really great cinematography.

The tall kid at the end, Rikiman if i remember well. I liked what he said about always being someone else to defeat over and over.

''Never trouble trouble till trouble troubles you."

Serizawa and Izaki.

Because I am a girl and I find them hot haha! I also like the Freshmen boys.

SPOILERS

I wanted Serizawa to win the final battle.

My absolute favorite was Serizawa. Having seen Yamada Takayuki act in other stuff, this role was different, but he pulled it off so well (I wish he had more screen time). He was so funny yet bad ass at the same time.

Serizawa!!!

Hmmm, my absolute favorite is Tokaji followed closely by Tokio.

reply

Serizawa, The big tall guy with braids and sunglasses, and the Judo-dreadlock guy.

But to be honest, I've never seen a movie with so many characters who were awesome and unique at the same time.

reply

I loved the Judo dreadlock guy even thought he didnt even get any screen time.... just like 6 throws in both movies and the beat up... but i also liked his friend, the one with the huge glasses... but the best of the best? Izaki and Maki!

Serizawa, The big tall guy with braids and sunglasses, and the Judo-dreadlock guy.

Same here (and Izaki), I wish the last two had gotten more screen time.

Also, Serizawa should have won.

What's so good about this movie is that there are no good/bad guys. Some want Genji to win, some Tamao.

Rindaman is badass!!
