This was bad even for Syfy, though I always love their movies in spite of their awfulness. Francesca Cecil was bad, though her brutal fake Southern accent was really no worse than everyone else's. (The acting actually was unusually bad for a Syfy original I thought, that is usually not their worst element.) Nor I fear was she presented as babelicious eye candy enough to overlook this.
The tone was just off, too. The lead guy's brand new girlfriend is horribly murdered in front of him and almost immedatiately after he is exchanging aggressively manly quips with the new sheriff, whose hostility toward him never really made any sense. A little more plot and character logic would have been nice, especially in a movie whose basic premise was ridiculous and poorly explained.
