What's up with these plot holes, BRO?

-Parents magically disappear for a long while and apparently out of ears reach or worry once the Chitauri invasion begins when the building was still intact and shaking.

-Kate Bishop is good at Archery, Fencing, Karate (although she only says martial arts), and a Gymnast yet can kick ass against numerous thugs at once in street fighting? I laugh at that since most martial arts are just performative exercises and don't work well in real life unless it's MMA stuff. She even did flips on moving car hoods to save a dog in traffic. Bah, can't complain since she's in the comics and Hawkeye was a skilled marksman, archer, and former circus performer trained by criminals.

Update: Okay she's MMA so it makes more sense. She has been trained in self-defense since 5yo, and is skilled in boxing, jiu jitsu, and other forms of unarmed combat.

-Clint is well known so I find it hard to believe he can just walk around with family life and not get noticed or hounded by fan-atics or paparazzi even without branding (since fans would do the branding for him). He'd be like Johnny Depp or maybe Daniel Day-Lewis in a sense but on a grander scale. Even when he's doing covert stuff where he hides his face under a hood before putting on a firefighter jacket where his face is clearly shown.

-Armand Duquesne reminds me of Christoph Waltz when he says "Precisely" and "Believe me, I've done everything in my power..."

-What's with the dog? Macguffin? So out of place and in your face at the same time, especially for that Avengers 'Tony Stark' watch. (This was based off the very first episode btw)

-Tracksuit Mafia just a annoying comedy sidepiece? At the beginning they were masked then one of the guys (Kazi) takes off his balaclava in public showing his face. Later on they don't even bother wearing masks... Sup with dat bro? Bro? Talk to me bro.

-How does Kate know Armand the 3rd was killed by a sword? I don't recall it ever being mentioned how he died other than he died.

Overall I am still optimistic for future episodes. Even started off nice with a Christmas theme for this December. Just watching Clint own all those mostly virgin LARPers was an amusing moment.

It feels like the weakest addition into the Marvel Phase 4 since we're dealing with a hero with no powers (the other being Black Widow). Alternate to Arrow (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2193021/) I guess.

That was years later, he was not the top guy in avenger and also he was cornered in the bathroom by fans.

I don't think Kazi was in the Tracksuit Mafia, I think they are 2 group of people. You can see clearly Tracksuit Mafia was not looking for a watch.

How does Kate know Armand the 3rd was killed by a sword? I don't recall it ever being mentioned how he died other than he died.

Kate looked at Armand III's dead body up close, so that might be the reason. Though sword is a bit too specific, maybe she was bluffing since Jack Duquesne was obsessed with swords.

Well, just a fan-atic. A perv one at that. It's like they only recognize him when he confronts them or they him but then he's a NPC to everyone else. Even if he wasn't the top guy he'd still be memorable since there were only so many heroes fighting during that time. I think he'd be more liked since he's more 'human' and relatable compared to the other heroes.

Kazi was the guy that pulled off his ski mask and stared at Kate before putting it back on and running away. And yes, he's in the TSM else they wouldn't be looking for Kate. Their iconic BRO is what gives them away.

Barely, just a quick look then his face before dashing off as the wife came home. She's a detective now? I say it's a plot hole. She was also talking to her mom when she mentioned the murder by sword and only picked up Jacques had something to do with it when he came in a bit later and offered her a butterscotch candy.

Kazi was looking for a watch. Did you see anyone in TM was asking about the watch? None was wearing masks in the end, did you see Kazi among them?

I think you are confused about the story, not the story has problems, at least not the ones you pointed out.

reply

It wasn't just Kazi, it was the group he was with as well. I am not sure if he's the leader of the small group he was with but they're the same folks at the end of episode 2 only unmasked, and why they were tracking Kate when she went back to her place before it got trashed because they found her. I'm assuming they're going after her since they think she has the watch hence why they keep asking about her but Clint was just in the way. And yes, Kazi was among them. Clint was staring at him in the background while the bros were doing their so-called interrogation on him before Kate crashed through the roof, "Found her bro."

I'm not confused about the story, I am just wondering how they came to the conclusion on things they've never mentioned or heard before. I do think you're confused though.

reply

I guess you were right about Kazi, though I still have no idea why nobody asked about the watch.

reply

Yeah, they TOTALLY ditched the watch. It's like a small macguffin to move things along. They're now focused on the deaf chick Echo (Maya) and Ronin now. Kazi is apparently her right-hand man and translator. Maybe they were just there because they knew of a black market auction going down and wanted the goods from a tip but then just so happens Ronin re-appeared and the goals shifted.

So many awful takes in one post.

LOL

OP called the dog a macguffin. Dear god. I hope this post was elaborate satire.

I will have to watch this show and confirm to you if these are in fact plot holes. People all the time on these boards misuse the term plot hole

reply

And you are the primary culprit.

reply

That word.. I don't think it means what you think it means.
