Did anybody want this?

I never got the hype about Renner's Hawkeye,he wasn't a good fit for Clint and was very boring and didn't deserve any continuation.

reply

Billions of dollars were made with movies he's in. Hawkeye is worth a shot.

reply

He was part of the ensemble so making a billions has nothing to do with him

reply

We'll see. They haven't lost money with their MCU movie choices yet.

reply

I sure didn't. I doubt it'll be a hit...

reply

There has to be marvel fatigue at some point, right? Even Star Wars had it when Solo was released.

reply

I want a Hulk movie or show with Mark Ruffalo. Why Hawkeye? The dude has the personality of a brick wall

reply

Never cared that much for his character during the Avengers movies. Didn't really know the character well either as I'm not a big comic book fan. That said, if it's well written and looks like a good movie then I suppose it doesn't matter. I mean we've had 2 movies about the more interesting Hulk, but they weren't exactly great movies.

reply

I don't get the character either. He's just a guy with a bow and a finite amount of arrows. I don't think he fits in the films at all.

reply

In the comics hes more badass i personally like grounded heroes but here he sucks

reply

He hacked a helicarrier with an arrow.

Yeah, I think he fits.

reply

He might as well be the Avengers chauffeur. No cares about a guy that is really good at shooting arrows.

reply

He hacked a helicarrier with an arrow.

Being really good at shooting arrows doesn't let you do that.

reply

He could shoot a probe onto Mars with a bow and I still couldn't care less about him.

reply

lmfao, I hope he does something absurd like this in the show.

reply

He didn't invent the arrow?

reply

Uh...you don't have to invent the shit that you're good at using.

reply

Well I won't be watching!

He's the dullest Avenger, has the least interesting "powers", and has had the least interesting actor playing him. And when you've got Scarlett Johanssen as competition, that's pretty embarrassing.

reply

but now they just make game shows or comedies out of any of these and they are a hit.
It's as if: "Hey WHAT IF... we just throw any piles of shit at the walls? They will stick and make billions"

reply

The reason that people watch Marvel throw any random stuff on the wall and see what sticks is mostly because they have an unusually high rate of stickage*. In a world dominated by Sturgeon's Law ("95% of everything is crap"), Marvel Films has put out film and TV products that are almost always entertaining, and have an unusually good chance of being terrific. Plus, they can make the weirdest stuff work, I mean "Wandavision" was a batshit crazy idea, but it turned out to be great fun to watch. So, people, keep turning up for whatever the Marvel brand produces.

If you don't like it, fine, you don't have to. But lots of people do genuinely like their product.

* Also because all their plots are so intertwined that you have to see everything to really know what's going on. That has huge geek appeal.

reply

true, can't knock the reality of its success,

but as an outsider, the whole intertwined part smells of "Soap opera continuity" which I really, really, really hate for it enslaving humanity.

reply

It's not enslaving humanity, it's harmless fun.

You're not into fun, are you.

reply

I ain't got time to bleed. ....wait.. what was the question? :D

no, my mantra is everyone should like whatever they enjoy! and I stand by that. no wrong answers. but movies that don't have an ENDING, that must continue - even though I paid for a single movie I expected to resolve, really piss me off. but we accept it like it is normal now... everything is a continuing saga, allowing the writers to be lazy and not bother to learn how to write a solid, satisfying ending.

reply

I disagree, I think the Marvel writers have done a good job of giving almost all of the movies a satisfying happy ending, while fitting it into the larger saga of the Marvel Universe.

Okay, sometimes it ticks me off a bit that each movie is required viewing, but not enough to stop me coming back.

reply

box office proves they are doing a great job.

FOR ME (and me alone) the CGI bores me, and the story seems to depend on it.
Enjoy it though, its not made for me

reply

Well, I hope something widely available *was* made for you, it's lovely when a big mainstream movie exactly matches your tastes.

reply

Thanks Otter. I have my tastes. Nolan and IMAX and I am set. :D
I REALLY enoyed the first Iron Man, until the cgi battle at the end

reply

Oops.
