shareI agree. It is obvious they are her daughters. I am assuming, since they are high school age, that they want to run for student president/council. I think that would be the most logical choice since these actresses are so young.

Not everyone takes on the males name when they get married, nor does the male family name always get passed to the children. It also would made of made sense for Elle to give her kids her name - it may be more notable then Emmett's, they may have just liked it better. Elle's a modern woman, I wouldn't put it past her.

sharethey are not her daughters. If you watch the movie the girls repeatedly say "Cousin" Elle. The mom died a couple of years ago and they moved into Elle's place because she said that all of her time is in DC at that moment.
