Any News on a DVD Release Date?

The DVD is now available. I saw the film at a tea shop in Berkeley last night, with the filmmakers present for some Q&A. Les said he shot the footage in China surreptitiously, or without gov't sanction. I found it interesting that the film was 9 years in the making. Sundance channel has purchased rights, so it will be shown there sometime soon.

Just saw it on Sundance. It's a wonderful documentary ~ inspiring and informative. Gave me a whole new appreciation for a beverage I love.

yes, good tea is amazing but doesn't anyone [ i looked at the few external reviews] see how insensitive and actually rude hoffman is!

discussing *beep* with people while they are eating a meal together!

sticking his nose into sacks of tea [ considered rude in china~~easy enough to take a handful out of the bag and bring it to ones nose]

generally condesending and arrogant towards people.

how can an american even begin to lecture the world about chemicals in agriculture~~where did these chemicals originate and who still uses the most. better he should lecture the folks at dow and other us chemical companies...

and basically he is a businessman trying to get a low price and build up his sad ego~~~ didnt he learn anything from his earlier travels in life?

reply

Yeah, I also felt that he was rude. I got the impression that he thought everyone was wrong but him.

For someone that travels and does as much business in China as he does, he didn't seem to know much Chinese either.

This film makes you appreciate the work that goes into a good tea. I must search the net for some of this good tea.
