I Hear Bulgaria Is Lovely This Time of Year...

When I think of American college kids on a train being killed one by one, I immiediately think of Sofia, Bulgaria! LOL

If they have to shoot this film outside the US to save money, why not Canada? They could have some gorgeous shots of the Rockies in the film, picturesque little towns, etc.

When did Bulgaria get this reputation as a place to make a movie on the cheap? Sci-Fi channel shoots many of their movies there. Anybody know if it's that much cheaper to shoot in Bulgaria than in the Great White North?

The movie must be set in Bulgaria according to the plot summary.

Very little if any taxes.

Labour costs in Bulgaria are much lower in Bulgaria than in the US. And Nu Image have been making films there for years, so they have regular crew members, stuntmen, etc. who they always work with.

Haha.. my homeland is great. I love it. Why? .. 'couse of so many reasons...
I don't know exactly how much is cheaper here then somewhere else (US, Canada or.. ) to make movies, but Nu Image did a lot to settle in Bulgaria, there were a lot of legal problems for them to pass and I doubt they did it just for fun ;)

In this case I can tell you that if they shoot this movie with a simple black'n'white camera riding the train from Sofia to Varna it will be scary just becouse of the train itself... we've got some really old mashines which could be pwerfect for such movie.
