Claire? (spoilers)

Does she get burned up in the train? Or is she in the car with Thora? Thanks!

She was dragged off by a group of soldiers and never seen again. She's probably dead though. I don't get why the creators were so scared to show horrible things happening to the women but would casually butcher the men :/

Claire earlier had one leg cut off by the train people - apparently for a leg transplant. Then when the train stopped at one station or checkpoint, the train people had to pay the Russians to let the train pass through, and the guards looked at the money and said it was not enough. The train people then said they would give Claire to them as a "bonus". It wasn't clear what the Russians were supposed to do with a one-legged girl, In the film, we saw the dogs barking as Claire was dragged out, and I am afraid the implication seemed to be that the Russian soldiers fed poor Claire to the dogs.

I assumed they were going to gang rape her THEN feed the poor girl to the dogs.
Did she have her leg cut off? I don't remember that scene at all!

Honestly, I wish Claire had been more developed. I mean, I feel bad for her due to circumstances, but she was pretty nothing as a character. Especially compared to Alex, Willy, and Sheldon (all 3 of whom I really liked)

Yes, Claire had one of her legs cut off - though the action itself was not shown. In one scene, we see Claire being hung up with a huge hook through her mouth (ouch!) and one of her legs had been cut off. At the end, when the Russian soldiers carried the screaming Claire away, we again see clearly one of her legs was missing. That was seen by Thora through the train's window, and her anguished look was the picture used for the cover of the DVD.

I doubt even the evil guards would rape a one-legged woman, but we really don't know since the trainmaster (an evil guy himself) said they were "animals". In any case, Claire clearly did not survive.

Ah, well that brings me back to my question. Why were the filmmakers so afraid to show the women being mutilated but gladly showed graphic depictions of violence on the men? :/ That just felt odd.

Yeah, Claire is deader than dead I'd rather it be her than Alex (Thora) though, since I actually liked her a lot! (Though Willy was my fav!)

That is a trend I've noticed as well over the years. Especially in some of these "torture porn" movies the male characters die horribly and the female ones usually don't. Or else it's not shown (like you stated).

I have not seen this movie so I can't comment on it but I offer a good example of cruelty against male characters. In the movie Carver (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1001333/) all of the male characters die horribly while the female characters hardly suffer. Spoiler: One female shoots herself in the head. Instant death, no suffering.

I, too, wonder why movies depict gruesome acts of violence against males but not females. I find that trend rather disturbing to be honest.

Actually, when the Conductor said "animals" I knew exactly what they were going to do with her. They were going to keep her as a slave and then either kill her or sell her off when they were "through" with her. It is common that for some reason American girls fetch the highest rate amongst human traffickers.

Americans are more expensive because they are far more difficult to get. White girls in general are extremely difficult to get.
