The kids are more adults than the adults

When they're grown ups they act way more childish than their kid counterparts which makes it feel off putting. Billy was grade 9 in the first movie and grade 12 in the second along with Freddy. Oldest is Mary but she acts her age more or less.

Yeah I noticed this as well. They indeed act a lot more childish when they’re adults, which makes no sense.

reply

You could say the same about Homelander and The Deep.

There is no kid comparison to them though... Show starts off with them as grown adults. Sure they have this need for pampering and a adult to guide them but that's not the same as what I am talking about in this movie.

reply

Yeah, I know. Billy Batson acts more mature in the first movie than Shazam ever does.

reply

Haven't seen this one but that annoyed me in the first one.

Shazam & Billy Batson felt like two completely different characters

reply

100% agreed. It's like he reverts to a weird childlike mental state when he goes from Billy to Shazam.

Maybe Levy and the kid who plays Billy should meet and get on the same page character wise.

It made sense in the first one, but this one was just weird because Billy is almost 18. Shazam and Billy feel like completely different characters

Yeah to be fair , although I enjoyed both films this is an issue I had with them. Especially Zachary Levy as Shazam ! He really do not feel like it is Billy inside there at all. Even in the first one Billy was way more composed than Shazam. However the issue is bigger in the second one because Billy is near 18 and as Billy act very serious than when he is Shazam he is all goofy and makes a joke or a pun every second sentences. It does not look like Zachary Levy even tried to act like Asher Angel and he just did his own thing. Again I loved those film but I do agree they could have tone down the goofiness of the adult characters and especially Shazam himself.
