The kids are too sheltered and coddled. They grew up in a world with empties, but not a world where they have actually dealt with them. We should've seen how the adults would occasionally bring one in for them to killed in a controlled environment. So it'd feel a bit more true if we were seeing these young kids kill the empties easily and mercilessly, showing that they're jaded in a way none of us have ever actually had to be

Yeah, 'Fear' already covered how teens grow and adapt to the new world. This is just some cheesy 'kids soap opera' in the Walking Dead Universe. Was hoping for revelations about the new world, and links to the other shows, but it's just pointless "I'm so scared" kinda junk.

I can't wait to see Rick's eyes glaze over in the TWD movie when he finds out that these guys were living the life while he was out fighting the Governor back at the prison.
Most parents want things to be better for their children so they would want to shelter them from what they had to escape. I like how they had to learn what was out there and then gain courage to fight them. These are not your regular kids. With the exception of Hope, the others are misfits who are not fighters. Kind of nerdy, too. It's something different from the other shows.
