I can guess what the Civic Republic must be like. Lots of police and soldiers. Posters with slogans like "Unity, Strength, Order" plastered on walls around town. Schools resembling China's, with kids standing and reciting their propaganda loud and proud. Brains washed, dried, and folded. Mandatory service at 18. Probably trained to inform on their parents too. What media there is merely echoes the Great Leader (or The Party, or whatever). Enemies of the state disappearing in the middle of the night and none of their neighbors talking about it, lest they be next. So live free in a lawless land full of walking corpses, or get your creature comforts like electricity and hot showers - and the full George Orwell experience. Which would you choose?
Whatever their master plan for the future, any community they don't think they can assimilate and get totally on board is simply cancelled. Everyone wiped out. Certainly they had no good reason to destroy the Campus Colony, who considered them allies. Perhaps the academics leading the colony were too aligned with the old world in their attitudes. The Civic Republic reps knew they'd be a problem down the road once they learned more about their "friends".

shareI don't think she's worried about them, so much as she has plans for them. Perhaps their father managed to escape and she's letting the daughters track him down for her. Something like that. Who knows? She gave them the map, and said "Good!" when they couldn't be found, so clearly she wanted them to head for New York. Elizabeth is a schemer. Nothing she does is random.

So... basically the world the woketards who make this (and most other shows now) are trying to make happen. Got it. I'll take the land of walking corpses. Sounds a bit less awful. share
