suicide exhibit (spoiler)

Who was the guy doing the suicide exhibit? It looked so real I almost passed out.

reply

That was Frost.

That was Frost of the band Satyricon. He was the one on the airplane with the kid staring at him.

His real name is Kjetil-Vidar Haraldstad, and he's drummed for Satyricon since...92? (Don't quote me on the year) and he's been in Gorgoroth, Zyklon-B, Gehenna, 1349 and Keep Of Kalessin.

I'm pretty sure he actually cut his throat, though not deep enough to seriously injure or kill. I've just seen the film recently, so it might have been a special effect. Though considering who's doing it and who's making the film, it's not that likely.

it is real. frost is known to be interested in bloodletting, ritual or otherwise. there's a well documented account of vicotnik of dodheimsgard nearly disabling his arm during a discussion of bloodletting with frost that led to some severe cutting.

That which is dead can eternal lie, and in strange aeons, even death may die.

reply

I don't think it was actually real. Did you notice how much blood was gushing out? He would have been hospitalized after cutting his own neck like that, it is impossible to stand up after that much bloodshed.

I know Frost cuts himself but that presentation seemed more like an artistic approach rather than ritualistic. After all that blood gush, he wouldn't have walked as he did some upcoming scenes.

It would be nice to have someone confirm this though. Maybe paramedics helped him out and maybe the scenes that came right after it when they were leaving that art show, were shot before or at another time.

reply

It looked like in the background there were already paramedics awaiting him. Also the walking scenes that we see in post could be from before the exhibit.

reply

I think they're from before the exhibit. As he's walking he says something like "I'll give a sign if something goes wrong" (quoted by memory.)
