How does this compare to Urban Justice?

Is this new film better than Urban/Renegade Justice, the same or worse?

Thanks

It's not as good in my opinion but still quite decent...

I thought it was better - great chase and shootout scenes.

I actually enjoyed Pistol Whipped a lot more than Urban Justice. I wasn't expecting much and was surprised by how decent PW was. UJ & PW are prob his best 2 films in years. That's not saying much.

The shepard with Van Damme was better than both of the Seagal films, you should rent that. Van Damme kicks sum as*!

This easily the best Seagal movie in years. Urban Justice is a entertaining, just in all the wrong ways. I thought Seagal looked like he actually cared in this movie. And I thought most of the action was pretty decent.

Van Damme has been making his comeback for awhile, and while I never like Seagal as much, I hope this leads to better Seagal movies in the future. I think The Sheperd with Van Damme is slighty better, but Pistol Whipped was very solid.

I'm not saying it's the world's best script or story, but I agree - he puts more emotion (well just the fact that there's any at all is a step up) into this role that any I can think of since probably even before exit wounds.

It amused me to watch him play poker - he should be good at it in real life - as even when he tries to show emotion, most say there's no external hints whatsoever :)

more seriously though, it is his best film in a long time. I actually liked the fact that it's one of the only roles I can think of where he's _really_ not much of a good guy. And he doesn't hide the fact he isn't in great shape, or that he's not in his 20s. the fight scenes actually look a fair bit better - I'd prefer what he's done there, a little more realism - he doesn't 'have' to be the baddest mf in town (which he tries in other films, and comes off poorly as a result, as it's not convincing) - more a case of he's determined/got little to lose whatever. That sort of heroism has more currency imho - anyone can be tough if they are (for the purpose of the film) indestructible, there's more to admire seeing someone not guaranteed of a victory, still standing their ground and being in the fight. Of course there's still some traces of the raging ego (like that line in teh script where drea implied he had a big penis) but far less than more recent slop.

I hope he can continue to make more movies of this standard, or better yet, higher standard, as I truly think those who stuck by him (so to speak) for years of dodgy dtv movies have finally seen something that at least justifies the rental price.

It's not Shakespeare, but let's hope he continues in this upward direction.

van damme the Shepard is one of the worst films ive seen for a while...dreadful acting by van damme although he improved for JCVD the movie and the production values are laughable(they make UJ look big budget)

Urban Justice is much better but this is not bad considering what Steve has done since Exit Wounds.

Seagal is moving in the right direction.

Urban Justice better. The pacing in that movie is better throughout, this movie has too many slow spots that just leaves you going; "W-T-F"?!? This movie is on a par with "The Foreigner" - not a good thing.

better, i thought,, i think Seagal is getting back to where he needs to be slowly but surely,, this is a good one
