Colin Kaepernick

A recent poll says that 61% of Americans do not support Colin Kaepernick's decision not to stand during the national anthem.

I understand that people will have differing opinions on this. And I think most people who are against it are only objecting to his method of protest, I don't think they support police brutality.

What annoys me is that I have yet to see ONE commentator on ESPN fail to support Kaepernick and his protest. They are all 100% behind him. Considering that 61% of Americans are against it, the commentators are a little out of step. It's like they are all afraid of losing their jobs, or are afraid of offending black athletes that they may have to interview, or perhaps their fellow commentators.

I would just like to see ONE commentator, just ONE, not toe the company line on this, and say what most American people are thinking, that the anthem is not the appropriate place for the protest.

Mike Ditka and Trent Dilfer have both spoken against him, but you're right, they won't let a prevalent name do it.

Part of the reason is that ESPN knows a large part of its audience is black. Alienating that base would not be good for ratings.
