Why they are saying this? because deep inside they know it is the truth but they cannot accommodate to the inconvenient changes everyone of has would have to undergo in order to attenuate the environmental damage.
People need to watch this and really actually watch it. It is all true. People need to wake up.

I undertand that people need to wake up, but I found the movie alarmist, I would like to see more solutions and not the "we kill the planet". Anyway, the documentary makes me want to read Suzuki. Still like Arthus-Bertrand, Earth from Above: 366 Days is one of my favorite book ever!

shareThere are soloutions, well not any good one for the crazy overpopulation though. However we should think more about saving humanity than saving the environment, the environment will outlive humanity for sure there is no doubt about that. Earth has never been as rich on spieces as it is now and regardless of our behaviour a few spieces every day will die, we should stop trying so hard.
I doubt us destroying some of the environment will be the end of humanity, maybe it will be the soloution to the problem we have with overpopulation.
I dare to say that it's arrogant to take on the task of saving the PLANET when we can't even save ourselves. First step should be to settle our differences like grown ups instead of killing eachother in wars to attain more power and money. Some atheists like myself say religion is the causue of war, however religion is an excuse for war, people and their eternal lust for power and wealth is the cause for war, if there were no religion the only difference would be that they'd find another excuse. My point is that I think we'll kill ourselves either through war or some big catastrophy like a comet or something will kill us all.
I have not seen this documentary and it seems like a good one so I'm not critizising it, I will see it as soon as I have the chance, I'm just venting my opinion on a board that seems related to the issues.

You are speculating. First of all there is no real scientific basis that co2 is even a greenhouse gas therefor we might not even be affecting the green house effect that has always existed, there is evidence that warmer weather causes more co2 though, corrolation does not mean causation. More than 32000 scientists in america have signed a petition dissenting from global warming "concencus" as Gore said there was among scientists. Now second of all the "PLANET" does not need saving, HUMANS do. We will be extinct before the planet is. We have no means of completely destroying the planet, we are nothing but a surface nuicance to the planet. When we die the planet will still be here and it will heal itself and it will prosper, so stop sayign saving the planet. We can't even save ourselves and yet you want us to save the damn planet.
The planet has been through things far worse than humans so stop putting our spieces on such a pedistal, we are no threat to the planet.

As for saving anything, this movie like so much else misses an important point:
WHY should I care about saving people? Most people are *beep* I'm sure on the whole the planet would be better of without us.
