Koyaanisqatsi inspired

The similarity is sometimes striking. Even though Ron Fricke's time lapse and sometimes slow motion photography has been replaced by modern super-crisp hi def photography, the similarities are still striking. Some shots are almost exactly the same!
The soundtrack is now more "world music" and "artsy" as opposed to Glass' experimental orchestral minimalism - but some of Philip Glass' signature soud is still there.
In a way, this is a modernized Koyaanisqatsi with added narration so we can "get" it. the message is still the exact same:Earth is a beautiful planet and we ruin it.

I do not belittle this wonderful film, nor do I call it a copy cat. The choice of Glenn Close for the english language narration is perfect.

Wonderful movie, but not exactly original.

That was the first thing what came to my mind.
