Those two Oscars you mentioned were for COSTUME AND ART DIRECTION. What a person is wearing doesn't fight the fact that the story of this film, and the pacing were absolutely awful. The break dancing was ridiculous, the characters were one dimensional, (except for Carter who is a mastermind anyway), and I could PULL SCENES from this film and from POTC where Depp is playing the exact same character. Want me to? It could be fuuuuun. share

Yes! One of them was for Art Direction which is an important part of filmmakig. It would not have been nominated for 3 Oscars if it was "horrible beyond belief".
