I can't stand Tim Burton anymore!!!!!

He's always got to put his stupid little uninteresting spin on other people's stories. Like this one. He could have just made it the way it was written, but oh no, he had to do what he always does, and crap all over it. Just like he did with Charlie and the chocolate factory. The monstrousity he made out of a classic like that movie, was HORRID. And enough with casting Johnny Depp already!!!!! He doesn't belong in EVERY dam movie ya know!!

Just like every other director in hollywood and beyond today?

He could have just made it the way it was written

He didn't want to, it's been done before.
Disney didn't want to either, this is also not the first Alice related film to mix things up about. Go watch the version by Jan Svankmajer .

Tim hasn't worked with him for FOUR years, and i can assure you Mr Depp hasn't been in every single movie ever made... maybe you've just only seen movies with depp in them? sounds like to need to branch out a little.

I can't stand Tim Burton anymore!!!!!

Please leave then.

I actually agree with you. Although I kinda like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory even though everyone else hates it. But yeah, he used to have a very unique style. Bettlejuice, Batman, Sleepy Hollow, Edward Scissorhands. But lately he's just lost his touch.

I thought this movie was nifty. Batman and Edward Scissorhands never appealed to me, though.

Burton has always been about style over substance. He creates interesting dark worlds but can't come up with interesting stories for them. Frank Herbert is another author whom I feel had the same problem.

reply

They are only uninteresting if you can't relate or understand.
Style is Substance if you bother to open you're eyes and ears.

I loved this and Charlie. Burton is an icon.
